Play,Make,Create 2021

 Today we done Play,Make,Create and I worked with Jasmine and we done create,me and Jasmine made a playground for a monkey. we used cardboard,tape,string,sticks and paper sticks and string for the vines yellow paper for bananas cardboard for the base  and tape to tape it all together.I enjoyed this session of Play,Make,Create and I enjoyed the book and the activity I done. What I would change would be making it better because today i felt like I didn't do it to my standards so I could do it better that  it is now.I found taping the sticks to the cardboard to make it look 3D hard cause it kept falling and falling so it was quite difficult. Whetu Challenge 18.06.21

 Today we done Whetu challenge and I worked with Sol,Heidi and Jasmine.I think we done pretty good as a team it was fine at the start and then it fell over and we had to rip it to make it stand up properly in the end we made it to 145cm during the measuring.The thing I thought could've been  better will be the base because we had to keep adding to the base and it didn't work.Here is a picture of out creation from the start.

Brush it! - Oral Hygiene Challenge 17.06.21

 This week we made digital posters or step by step guides on how to brush your teeth.

I made a step by step guide on google drawing the reason why we are doing this is because we have got the dental van at our school for the whole term.

we are also doing a competition for the best poster or step by step and the dental van people are making a prize with some dental things.

This week we used natural things,  I worked by my self and I done build.I built a bug hotel with Bamboo,Sticks,Leaves,tape,parts of a flowers and a cardboard tube.What I found the most challenging was attaching the sticks to the bamboo with tape because the kept slipping off. the thing I found the most easiest was making the Little bugs.I feel like I could of added more but I'm happy with what I created!!

 Today we done play,make,create based on a book called Theodore the unsure.I worked with Jasmine we done Design,Design a tool or gadget we made a salon with different types of tools such as a comb,scissors,spray bottle and a lion with wool as the hair.If I were to change any thing i would change the Idea of the lion!

Kite Day 2021

 

One Friday the whole school made kites to fly for Kite Day,I worked by myself and I used a Chiefs flag, ribbon, string and two Feathers on the top. 

The hardest thing that I had  to do was wrapping the flag around the base and attaching the string.

The thing that I found easy was the tail and the two Feathers because all I had to do was attach them to the base. My kite did fly just not that high but when we spread out to free fly them mine crashed into the ground and broke .

I really like how my kite turned out but if I could change one thing about my kite it would be to use a different material other than the Chiefs Flag!! 

Play,Make,Create Week 2

 

This week we done Play,Make,Create based off the story Be me.I worked with Emily and we done Make, Make something that you love so we made a Hockey Turf.

`Something that i would change about the Hockey turf is maybe adding more characters to the game but otherwise i wouldn't change anything.

The most challenging part of our creation will definitely the goals because they kept falling down when we tried to stick them down.

NumBots & TTRockstars Blog Post

 Term 2, Week 1 2021

During Term 1 we have been practising our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online programme called NumBots.  At the start it was super easy but progressively got more challenging.

I am now on level Aluminium of NumBots.  

I enjoy NumBots because it helps with your learning/multiplication and subtraction

What I find challenging is as you stage up the levels it get a little more hard to make it to the next level

This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online programme which helps us to learn our timetables.

I think that TTRockstars will be challenging for a bit because I been on it in a long time so I'm not really familiar with some of the times tables questions

Play,Make,Create Up the creek 03.05.21

 Today we done Play,Make,Create to a book called up the creek a story about three best friends and  team work.I worked with Shylah-Faye and we done design we made a communication device called cup phones which is basically 2 plastic cups and 1 long piece of string.The best thing about this session of Play,Make,Create was that at the end of the creating time we tried the cup phones out and it worked.One thing that i would change is that i would add more detail.

Whetu Fun Day 2021!

 Whetu Fun Day

Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.

My favourite part of the Amazing Race was the tasks and the Activities that we had to do to advance to the next challenge!

The rotation I enjoyed the most was the stem challenge because we got to make a Easter related outfit for one person out of news paper in our group of four.

During the Easter Egg Hunt I found my stick stuck strait up in the middle of the the field and the we had to take it back to a adult to swap it for a Easter egg and a ice-block!

The people that were in my team was Shylah-Faye,Maia,Jasmine,Emily,Pippa and our Team mannager Nicole!

     Today we done Play,Make,Create and I worked with Shylah-Faye we made a tent with a campfire this is how it turned out

Math's Mystery

 Today we done a Math's mystery and It was about a Missing trophy we had to figure out who stole the trophy I worked with Shylah-Faye and we found out that that the person that stole the trophy was Mollie!

Today we done Play,Make,Create and it was based off giraffes can't dance and i did the front of the book with a twist this is what the front of the book looks like...

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I think I done really good and done the best I could.

We had two art sessions this week and we had started to cut out some long triangles for the back round!

The most fun thing we have done during class time is the obstacle course we did on dress up in your house colour day!!

The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunch time this year is doing handstands by the sand pit!

One word that describes learning in Whetu is Great,Fun and Amazing!!

Something I am looking forward to is Swimming Laps!
